Summer Serve Day- August 11, 2007

The Ardent Faith team descended on Mrs. Hudson's home in the Pottstown area of town.  A beautiful woman just not able to keep up with the maintenance on her home needed a helping hand.  The pictures below will give you an idea of how extreme the makeover was- and in just one day!!

Braving 97 degree heat we pressure washed her home, scrubbed off the mold and mildew, painted trim and other exterior surfaces, hand lettered her name and address on her porch, hauled off debris, old tires, old appliances and furniture, disposed of a wasp nest, and landscaped her front yard, installed new porch light, installed new carpet on porch and steps, installed new bathroom flooring, new throw rug, new toilet with special higher seat, painted bathroom, and installed new vent.  Whew!!

Because of the hard work and skill of our team, we were able to pressure wash two of Mrs. Hudson's neighbor's homes.

The sweetest part of the day was the influence of our acts of kindness on the street.  Seemed that some of the neighbors hadn't gotten along for a few years.   They ended up gathering at Mrs.Hudson's commenting that the spirit of our team and hard work really spoke to them.  They wanted to be near.  We prayed for the ladies. With tears, they ended up reconciling and resolving to be friendly to one another.  Man it was powerful.
