Let's face it. Money doesn't grow on trees. Even if it did, when we cruise down the aisles at the Christian book store or the virtual aisles online, how do we know our money is well spent? It's scary to think that in every book store there is the best book in the store on a particular topic, and there is the worst book in the store on a particular topic.
These books listed here are Pastor Jeff's suggested library for the Ardent reader.

CHRISTIAN LIVING
Catalysts: You Can be God's Agent for Change
Bev Murrill, co-director of the network to which Ardent Faith belongs
There is a familiar sound among the nations. It is the frustrated, passionate people longing for substance, for real meaning to their lives. The Christ of the New Testament offered fulfillment, meaning and passion beyond what any human institution could ever offer. Even though the ensuing centuries saw this kind of vibrant faith and fellowship with God, it diminished in the midst of pomp and ceremony, lists of rules, infighting, self aggrandizement and political correctness gone mad. Increasing impotence rendered the Church pale, stale, and too frail to make any difference to the world. Nonetheless, the purpose and desire of God for friendship with humanity has not changed. God has no plan B. This book will open your understanding and build your faith to His plan for your life to unfold; bringing to your heart the most power that you can possess...faith to change the world and confidence that you can, too.

Fresh Wind, Fresh Fire, Jim Cymbala
Story of how prayer changed the Brooklyn Tabernacle Church from a church on life-support, to one of the most vibrant, diverse, and influential bodies of Christ in the World. Everyone in ministry should read this book. My wife literally could not put it down. Thankfully she could read it in a day!!

Pathways to Destiny
Understanding Your Journey Towards True Purpose in Life
Sheena Ryan- A good friend of Ardent Faith!!
Are your dreams still waiting to be fulfilled? God has set pathways before you especially designed to lead you into your destiny. You may have wondered why you seem to walk round and round in circles, never quite entering into God's promises for your life. Pathways to Destiny shines light upon the pathways that everyone needs to successfully negotiate, so that their destiny will become a present experience in-stead of a distant hope. This may well be the most important book you read this year! For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. (Ephesians2:10)

THEOLOGY
A Theology of the New Testament, George Eldon Ladd
If you buy one book on NT theology, this is your pick. It is exhaustive(really thick), and available in an easy on the wallet paperback. Ladd presents the different views on points of doctrine, then concludes each point by explaining his position. Index of scripture references in the back of the book so you can use it like a commentary.
